Group of the Travelling Seminar 2015

The Art Histories Travelling Seminar to Benin and Togo was organized by Hannah Baader and Gerhard Wolf (both KHI in Florenz and Forum Transregionale Studien Berlin) in collaboration with Romuald Tchibozo (Université d'Abomey-Calavi) and Suzanne Preston Blier (Harvard University, Cambridge).

The travelling itinerary included visits to Cotonou, Porto Novo, Ouidah, Lomé, the Attachora Region, Natitingou, Abomey, Abomey-Calavi and sites along the way.

After the journey, Art Histories and Aesthetic Practices published the blog “From Traditional to Contemporary Aesthetic Practices in West Africa” focussing on the history of art, architecture, and culture in Benin and Togo.
